Bend faster and more safely:
BendGuard allows minimum tool set up times with optimum safety

Safety in the bending process is and will always be a topic. With BendGuard by TRUMPF, safety and productivity don't have to be in conflict. You give the operator the necessary safety while still knowing you're working productively.

BendGuard with blocklaser: Productive and safe

Productive and safe
The fact that productivity and operator safety can be combined is demonstrated by TRUMPF's BendGuard: even at rapid speeds of up to 220 mm/sec, the operator is safe due to the opto-electronic safety system which monitors the area below the upper tool with a light field.

Functional principle

The press beam travels at rapid speed up to a mute point of 2mm. The backgauge fingers are detected in the process, but are not considered as collision contours. If the light field is interrupted during the operation by a collision contour, then the press brake stops. Once the obstacle is removed, the bending process can continue at rapid speed, after the operator activates the foot pedal again. Interfering contours, which can arise when bending basins or boxes, are carried out with the same productivity using “box bending mode”. All the programming functions and displays are integrated into the TASC6000 machine control system, so a separate control unit is unnecessary.

Another advantage of BendGuard can be seen during the tool set up process: while other safety systems must be pushed to the side and then readjusted, the BendGuard is easily and conveniently lowered into a vertical setup position. The BendGuard is then lifted back into a defined working position. That saves the operator a lot of time.
