Laser technology simplifies production steps and reduces the cost of parts
Since the launch of the Laser Tube Cutting machine in 1999, the flexibility by lasers has been successfully employed for tube machining by more than 500 TruLaser Tube users.
Lasers optimize the production process in tube machining. In one single work step, holes and complex contours are produced and the tube is cut into sections. This greatly slashes manufacturing costs as compared to conventional methods (sawing, scribing, drilling, milling and punching).
New tube constructions that decrease or simplify downstream production steps are constantly being developed. The labor and costs required for the manufacture of welding fixtures and for welding itself are reduced through the use of clip and snap-in connections. Positioning aids with pegs and holes make component assembly easier. Coding aids help eliminate assembly errors.
Designers are making increasing use of laser pipe and tube processing in their designs. It can therefore be assumed that the demand for laser-cut tubes will continue to increase.
